Posh and Becks

These two are the first of what I hope will be many celebrity cards. Suggestions are welcome. :)

I’m trying something a little different. I’ve gone back to my usual design techniques, but I’ve decided to keep my handmade envelopes separate from my cards. Let me know what you think.

All designs are available on my etsy shop as usual.

Etsy never ceases to amaze me. There are some seriously talented folks selling some really interesting stuff. I discovered these little gems this morning while I was looking for some good examples of letterpress.

I love this grown up take on those run of the mill birthday cards you can get just about anywhere.

Check out the rest on etsy.

I love these cards by R. Nichols. I bought some of the subway cards while I was in New York and I’ve kept an eye out for new designs ever since.

This is what I like to call “fancy stationery” i.e. the kind of stationery I crave, but never have an occasion fancy enough to buy it for. But a little looking can’t hurt, right?

My favorite are the vintage inspired cocktail invitations that come in three different designs. Check out the Kate Spade website for more cards and invitations.

Grocery bag cards

It’s Monday! Which means it’s time for more shameless self-promotion.

Look what I did over the weekend: grocerycards1.jpg

They’re a far cry from the German cards I’ve been making, but the envelopes are made from the same template. The letters and envelopes are made from an Andronico’s grocery bag (two cards and four envelopes from one grocery bag, talk about economical!) and the letters are glued onto printed cardstock.

I haven’t abandoned the German cards, I just wanted to try something different that might appeal to a wider audience. So check them out over at my etsy shop and have a great first day of the week!

New Cards!

These are cards that I had in the back of my mind, but I didn’t get a chance to finish before launching the shop. I’m hoping to eventually make a whole line of “Say Hello” cards, but I started with Heidi and Marlene because they both have recognizable facial features that make them easy to translate into graphic form. Plus, let’s get real here: I love Project Runway. If Tim Gunn had a German accent I’d make a card for him in a heartbeat. (Maybe later, that’s a whole other project). They join the ranks of Hans and Ursula in my little German celebrity line. :) You can check them out here as well as the rest of my stuff!

I had a rather busy weekend working on opening my etsy shop, but it’s done! It took a lot of time and effort, but it was worth it. Here’s a little preview of what I’ve been working on in the past week:

Neon, original, fun, creative, in a word: me. :) Stop on by any old time and check out the loot. (I hope you like the 80s).
