Look what came in the mail over the weekend!

The inside is even more beautiful! I looove Jane Austen style letters! The calligraphy is so delicate:

These gorgeous hand-written and illustrated valentines have been bouncing all over the web this past month, but I’d never thought I’d get one! Thanks Phe! :)

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I celebrated the new year by visiting one of my favorite places ever: Castle in the Air in Berkeley. This time I remembered to ask if I could take some pictures and they said yes!

It took three people to decorate this tree:

I wanted everything.

Sparkly gnomes!

Where I get all my sealing wax:

If you’re ever in the Bay Area, this place is definitely worth stopping for.

How to do sealing wax, originally uploaded by suburbanpenpal.

I’m obviously obsessed with sealing wax right now as evident by my last couple of posts. I got some new colors at Castle in the Air in Berkeley this past weekend and I picked up this. The glue gun method is probably the best if you’re doing large volume or are a beginner, but I prefer this method since I can never stick to just one color. The only downside to doing it this way is that it requires patience!

For those of you who live in the Bay Area, check out Castle in the Air on fourth street in Berkeley. Aside from being just plain awesome, it’s also where I get all of my sealing wax and seals.

I find inspiration in the oddest places. For example, I got this lovely little note from the folks behind Gocco*Boom in the 2009 paper swap:

So adorable! I’ve been sealing my letters for years, but I’d never thought of doing it this way. After some googling, I have discovered many new lovely things. Take it away flickr:
